Visste du at alpakkaene er assosiert med gudinnen “Pachmana”, Moder Jord, i mytologien til indianerne i Andesfjellene? Ifølge denne troen ble alpakkaene gitt på lån til menneskene, for å bli på jorden så lenge de ble godt tatt vare på og respektert. Denne legenden sier også at alpakkaene ble gitt til menneskene som en gave, på låns, ved fjellet Ausangate i Peru. Det er fjellet som ga navn til bl.a. Auzengate, en alpakkalegende i seg selv i Australia og far til vår Juanita og Auzengate’s Pride.

The alpacas are something we humans have on loan

Did you know that the alpacas are associated with the goddess “Pachmana”, Mother Earth, in Andean mythology? According to the legend the alpacas were given to Man on loan, to stay on Earth as long as they were well taken care of and respected. This legend also states that the alpacas were given to Man as a gift, at the foot of the mountain Ausangate in Peru. This is the mountain that the Australian alpaca legend Auzengate derived his name from, for instance, the father of our Juanita and Auzengate’s Pride.
